Neenah Royal Sundance Felt

After purchasing Wausau Paper’s premium brands, Neenah Paper found that Wausau’s Royal Paper brand was a natural fit with its own Sundance collection. The Royal collection included fiber and linen finishes, while the Sundance collection featured felt and smooth finishes. The new brand was launched in 2012 and is now known as Royal Sundance. Royal Sundance’s Felt texture was included in the newly merged brand. Both original brands were popular on their own, and well respected in the paper industry, and their strong attributes complemented each other. 

PRINTABILITY 

Royal Sundance Felt paper offers strong printability across a wide range of processes due to its durable felt finish and well engineered surface. Neenah guarantees high-quality performance on laser and inkjet devices in text weights, provided users run appropriate test sheets first to account for model specific variability. Royal Sundance’s felt texture also performs reliably well with most professional print methods—including thermography, lithography, digital printing, silkscreen, offset, letterpress, embossing, laminating, foil stamping, engraving, die or laser cutting, folding, and scoring—making it a versatile choice for both tactile design applications and production heavy workflows. Because the sheet is uncoated and textured, output results (especially on home inkjet/laser printers) may vary compared to smooth stocks, reinforcing the importance of pretesting to achieve optimal ink holdout and image sharpness.

Royal Sundance Felt papers present a richly tactile, visually refined aesthetic characterized by their softly textured, felt-like surface. The finish gives the sheet a sophisticated, handcrafted look—one that is both elegant and understated, adding depth and dimension without overwhelming printed content. The felt texture enhances the visual appeal by creating subtle shadowing and a natural, clothlike surface that looks premium in both whites and colors. The Royal Sundance line is FSC Certified, Green Seal Certified and manufactured using 100% renewable energy. Royal Sundance is produced acid-free, so it is an excellent choice for jobs that will be archived. Depending on the color chosen – Royal Sundance Felt contains a minimum of 30% PCW (post-consumer waste – recycled fibers) making Royal Sundance an economical but eco-friendly option.
